Remote fiber laser diagnostics · 5 years on the service side

Fiber laser not cutting right? Send me a video, get a straight answer.

The power reading looks normal and it still will not cut. Dross you cannot dial out. Piercing burns through, focus drifts, gas settings stop behaving. Control-system and process problems, on flat-bed and tube lasers alike — this is exactly what I work on. Describe the symptom and send a video: you get a straight answer in real time, and if I cannot solve it, you pay nothing.

$19.9 per diagnosis, flat — free if I cannot solve it.

Heavy dross on the bottom edge

3 kW fiber · N2 · focus 0 mm · 12 bar

What I would check, in order

  • Focus to -2 mm before touching the power
  • N2 from 12 to 14 bar, nozzle 2.0 mm
  • Pierce time +40 ms on 3 mm
  • One-sided dross: check nozzle concentricity and the red beam before anything else
  • Still there: slow the feed, lift the focus, then try one nozzle size up

Who you are talking to

5 years on the service side of fiber laser cutting control systems. That is the application layer: why a machine that runs perfectly still produces a bad part.

I do not sell machines and I am tied to no brand. What you pay for is the diagnostic thinking that gets your machine cutting again — the reasoning, not a number to copy.

Day to day I sit on the OEM service side — the companies that build the machines, and the factories that run them. Flat-bed and tube lasers, entry-level through high-power, a machine switched on last week and one that has been cutting for a decade. Different brands, different control systems, the same underlying physics.

What I get called in for

  • Control and electrical — alarms that come and go, wiring and signal loss, interference, drive and axis faults
  • Cut quality — dross, burrs, rough or wavy faces, corner burn, pierce failure, focus drift
  • Gas and optics — pressure and flow, nozzle choice and wear, lens contamination, beam alignment
  • Repeat work — a part that cut fine last week and not this week, two machines on the same program giving different parts
  • Speed and gas cost — nitrogen or oxygen going through faster than it should, and where to trade cut speed against edge quality
  • Scope — one stubborn part, or a full parameter set for a thickness and material you have never run
Laser JiaFiber laser cutting — control systems and process support, flat-bed and tube
  • Brand-agnostic: I read the symptom, not the badge on the machine
  • Remote-first: video, parameters and photos are usually enough
  • You get the reason behind every adjustment, so it works next time too
  • One person, start to finish — no ticket queue, no first-line script
  • If it is a hardware fault I say so — no parameter will fix a dead lens
  • Write in English or Chinese, whichever is easier for you
  • Flat rate agreed up front — free if I cannot solve it
  • Your parameters and drawings stay with me — not passed on, not resold

Personal practice. The advice is my own, written from field experience.

How to reach me

Send the problem, not a purchase order. The first opinion costs nothing.

1

Send the details

A short video of the cut, the material and thickness, gas and pressure, nozzle and focus, and what you have already tried.

2

I reply right away

In real time: what is most likely wrong, which setting to change first, and what the result will tell you.

3

Need the full parameter rework?

If the case needs a complete parameter rework, I quote it as one flat job, paid once the result holds on your machine. Same rule applies: no fix, no fee.

On a phone the button opens the WhatsApp app directly; on a desktop it opens WhatsApp Web.

Frequently asked questions

Are the laser cutting parameters free to view?

Yes. Every parameter table can be read without an account and without payment — all of it, no tiers. What is paid is not content: it is me looking at your specific machine.

Which laser cutting machines are covered?

The library holds 21 machine configurations and 1,668 parameter rows, covering carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass and copper. Each configuration page states its optics setup.

What do the red and green highlighted values mean?

Red values are trial-shot parameters — they work but are sensitive to machine condition and suit small batches only. Green values are recommended for production runs.

Do these parameters work on any fiber laser?

Treat them as a starting point. Laser source brand, optics, gas supply and material batch all shift the optimum, so always run a test cut before a production job.
